More amazing news

After last week's incredible decision to press ahead with the rest of the project, we've now had more wonderful news in the form of a £25,000 award from a trust as well as another donation of £5,000 towards the servery in the Fellowship Centre. This means we can press on with the final part of the build - the soundproof glass which will front the fourth room some 30ft up at the top of the church.

The halfway point

The St. Saviour’s Community Hub Project is financially going well and with the builders progressing on time the PCC on Tuesday 12th April committed up to another £30,000 to the project (from grants/ gifts given) which means we need around £40-45,000 to complete the project which could cover the glass wall for the 4th room, the side glass needed and also money to cover audio visual / furniture costs/ other finishing off costs by the builder and for the rooms themselves. We're now at the halfway point of the build.

We have so far raised a staggering £344,000.The re-opening of the church is planned for September 2016.

As a recap, the St Saviour's Community Hub includes modernising the ground floor and kitchen, adapting the space at gallery level on the first floor to make three rooms and including a lift for easy access. The builders, a firm local to Larkhall, have made great progress: the lift shaft is in, the steel girders to rebuild the balcony are in place, and the walls will soon be rising on the first floor rooms.

Check out this presentation showing progress on the project!
