Jazz on a Summers Evening

On the 23rd June, despite the rain  outside, inside St Saviour's Church we were having the most amazing summers evening incorporating fine food, wonderful company and absolutely incredible music from many exceptionally talented musicians. The footage was taken on a mobile phone, however a much more sophisticated camera was recording from on high and I'm sure DVDs of the evening will be available.

The evening raised over £2,000, an incredible figure, to go towards the Youth and Community Rooms Project so thank you to everyone who committed an enormous amount of time and energy into making it such a success.

Further Thanks

The fundraising is continuing and next Saturday evening, we will all be relaxing, on a glorious summer evening, as we enjoy fine food and listen to delightful jazz music here at St Saviours. A couple of tickets are still available if you're quick and get in touch with Steph or the church office!

In the meantime we would like to say a very big thank you to the Ray Harris Charitable Trust for their kind donation. We have also had another separate donation of £1000. Thank you to everyone who is supporting and fundraising for this exciting and crucial project, all your efforts and generosity are sincerely appreciated.

Paris in the Springtime

David Courtney had a completely different view of Paris this year, as he took to the streets to run the Paris Marathon on the 15th April. This incredible member of the St Saviour's church family ran the 26 miles in an astounding 4 hours and 25 minutes. What an incredible achievement! The wonderful news is that David did all of this to raise money for the St Saviour's Youth and Community Rooms Building Project, the final total of which is £1,011.00. Amazing! We are so grateful and so in awe of this physical challenge that David took on, well done! I am particularly impressed that at the end of such a distance he looks so bright!

Table Top Treasures

Last weekend saw the church full of bargain hunters in search of something that would make them smile and gladden their heart! Many were successful as they left with their arms full of books, toys, clothes, shoes and other fantastic finds. I was on the other side of the table so arrived with boxes and enormous bags full of out grown toys, games and loft clutter. How wonderful it was to leave with one small carrier bag at the end of the morning. So our fundraising continues and the Table Top Sale funds are all contributing so our grand total.

The ceilidh at the beginning of February was a fantastically fun evening and an enormous success. Thank you to everyone who has joined in and is helping us to edge ever onwards and nearer to our grand total. Keep your eyes open for upcoming events, we will be hosting an night of Jazz early in the summer, which promises to be an evening not to be missed.

Dust off your Dancing Shoes

Thank you to everyone who came along to the quiz night two weeks ago. It was a great success raising over £800 which was an incredible sum, and has boosted our fundraising. So thank you to Steph and her team of helpers for organising such an enjoyable evening. You can see that our fundraising board is gaining more and more colour as we raise more and more funds.

Our next fundraising event is now rapidly approaching. On Saturday 11th February the former quiz space will become a dance floor as Chris Dance and his band host a Ceilidh. The ticket prices of £7 per adult and £4 for those under 16 will include a light dinner. Drinks will be available to purchase from the bar. Contact the Church Office to buy your tickets. The fun starts at 7pm at St Saviour's Church, Larkhall. We look forward to seeing you there.
